What is a good brand for Dry Dog food for my German Shepard?
I have two german shepard puppies. First fed them Pedigree puppy, then vet recommended Hill’s, so I switched and then a friend of mine who is breeder recommended Nutro Max. They seem to be pooping twice a day.

Nutro Max is a good kibble..I fed it for several years..and raised many litters on it..However..I switched to Canidae 2 1/2 years ago..and I heartily recommend it!
My pups grew amazingly robust and hearty..My oldsters were rejuvenated..behave as puppies//and the ultimate proof was the blood-work on my 10 year old..Vet was amazed..he said it was that of a 4-5 year old dog..AND her teeth were sparkling clean! Now, that’s a new one..My 7 year old also had white shiny teeth..All since feeding Canidae…
for GSDs, don’t feed the puppy formula, as the regular Canidae is best for them..

i have always fed my dogs Ol’Roy. they have never had digestive problems

Science Diet is really good… my dogs never have runny poops. And their fur coat is beautiful. They have lots of energy and are very healthy. Iams is good too.

I always trust any purina food for my german shepards. I have 2. One is a solid white male, and the other one is mixed colors.

all the brands so far recommended are good. All you need to be careful of with GS is their sensitive stomachs, just because they’re big dogs they can be prone to puking if not fed right. James Well-beloved has worked wonders with ours. The main thing you need to check is that they are getting a good solid base in their dry food and isn’t just additives and cereal!! Hills is also another good make that has helped as well. Good luck they are lovely dogs to keep!

When I had my dog, I usually fed him Tender Chops. Dog Chow is a very good dry dog food. Pooping twice a day is not a big problem, because my dog pooped like 2 or 3 times a day.

Royal Canin makes dog food just for German Shepherds.
Hills Science diet makes good food too.
Nutro Mas I heard was alright.
I heard Solid Gold was the best though, I’m checking into that though, and also Eagle Pack.
Through my research so far, I think I’m going to swicth from Hills to Canidae, they seem to make highest quality of food with the best outcome….. still looking into it …….

Nutro Max is a good brand of food. I feed my dogs Innova EVO and they love it, my 10 yr old LabX acts the same as my 2 and 3 yr old Shih-tzus. When people ask me her age and I tell them 10, they say 10 mo.? I tell them NO 10 yrs., they just can’t believe she’s that old the way she bounces and plays when we’re at the dog park.

I would stay clear of the grocery store foods though, they’re full of by products, fillers and junk.

I feed my large breed dogs nutro large breed, they have a puppy version of it as well. They also have a couple of different flavors. If your dog has skin/coat problems Lamb and rice is a good choice.

I would say Blue buffalo. My mom is a dog breader and from what I understand it is the best. It is all organic and all of the products they use are human grade, that way you arn’t feeding your dog stuff you wouldn’t eat.

I’m assuming you mean German shepherd. Buy one type of puppy food and stick to it. Don’t keep swapping them about and taking advice from all and sundry.The vet will recommend Hills if that’s the one he sells of course he will, he is trying to sell it to you.

It doesn’t matter as long as it’s a good brand of dog food. Iames, science diet, etc. The other dog foods that are cheaper to buy are not good quality foods. They use horrible things in their dog food. Chicken feces, chicken feathers, meat from an animal that died from cancer, meat from an animal that was fed large doses of hormones (which causes cancer in lab rats). Rancid fats are used. Hair from cows and horses are used. In Germany their dogs live 2 or 3 times longer than our dogs, because the government regulates their dog food companies. They aren’t allowed to use the ingredient that the U.S. uses in our dogs food
